Hello again!

I hope you enjoyed your mini-celebration (you did do it, didn’t you?)

I asked you to celebrate for 3 reasons:

1.      You’ve made a decision that you want to make change in your life, and that’s a big step and it should be celebrated

2.      Studies show that the more you celebrate, the more you find to celebrate about (which is a good thing!)

3.      The whole point of this journey is to get you thinking differently, but more importantly to get you doing things differently, and doing different things. You need to do stuff to create change.

So how is this going to work?

Well, each week I’m going to set you a different challenge of something to do that week.

You’ll get an email on a Sunday morning with the instructions for that week.

Some weeks it will be a one-off thing to do at some point during the week, and some weeks it will be something to do every day.

The topic will change – some weeks it will be about improving your mental health, some weeks about your physical health, some weeks your financial health, and some weeks just generally to help you and your life be a little bit better.

I know a week can be a long time and a lot can happen, so on a Wednesday I’ll send you a little booster email – it may have some extra tips to help you with your challenge that week, or an added bonus if you want to supercharge the challenge.

Most weeks I’ll also have a book recommendation for you – I’m not going to lie, most of these ideas are not new, and I didn’t come up with them. They are things I have learnt over the years from many mentors, and from reading a lot of books. And so I will point you to a book and an author that adds value to that week’s challenge.

Some weeks you’ll love the challenge and it will be something that you continue after the week has finished.

Some weeks you’ll struggle – maybe because it’s a bad week, or sometimes it’s something that just doesn’t fit right with you. That’s not a problem!

I don’t expect you to ‘get’ every challenge every week. By the end of the year you’ll have done 52 challenges, and my aim is for at least one of those to have made a massive impact on you and your life. And in reality I’m sure that you will find many more that become part of your life going forward.

But it all starts with you doing the stuff.

So I ask you now to make a commitment to yourself – to give each week a try. To put aside any scepticism or negativity, to suspend any thoughts like ‘that will never work’ or ‘that’s a stupid idea’ until you’ve at least tried it. I ask you to keep an open mind and be willing to do things differently and do different things.

As Henry Ford said, ‘if you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always got’. Or as Albert Einstein put it ‘the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result’.

Let’s get some different results for you this year.
